Elderly dog living homeless for a year since his person passed away

In Corpus Christi, Texas, an elderly dog has been living on the streets for a year since his person died and left him homeless. Everyday, he goes to a nearby gas station where a kind-hearted man feeds him twice a day. Unfortunately, that Good Samaritan has four dogs of his own, and his homeowners association has strict rules limiting the number of dogs; Steve has however offered to pay for veterinary care.

“He’s such a sweet boy and loves belly rubs,” Steve said. “It’s really hot out right now and he has no where to seek shelter other than by the gas pumps which is dangerous because there’s always vehicles driving through there.”

Harmony Fund – Animal Rescue Charity told this boy’s story more than a week ago and had been successful speaking with a few people to help, but no one ever came through. Harmony Fund is located more than 30 hours away from Corpus Christi – otherwise they would have gladly taken the dog into their facility.

And now this boy has become the focus on social media, where it is hoped the attention will lead to a foster or better yet – a home for him to live out his years in a loving environment.

“This dog doesn’t need to be ‘trapped.’ We think he can be easily put on a leash and loaded into a car. It just takes one person willing to make a plan and follow through…”

Please share this boy’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Look at his photos – surely he deserves better than to be homeless.
