A car was going down the highway when a police officer clocks the car speeding. After pulling the car over, he quickly notices something’s not quite right. A little girl sitting in the back seat is holding up a sign and her behavior is quite strange.
This was the plot behind the short film “Drama Queen” directed by Rogier Hesp. It only lasts under a minute but it won the Young Directors Award at Cannes in 2010. Rogier says that he’s in every story “always looking for the edge, an edge that provokes but ends in a smile.” The ending is by far the best part.
