According to recent studies, snakes are the third most feared creature on the planet. People, big and little, despise these slithering animals.

So you can image how relieved the majority of the world must feel to realize that the titanoboa no longer exists…

This thing, known as the “Titanoboa” slithered its way around La Guajira in northeastern Colombia between 58 and 60,000,000 years ago. It was, as far as we know, the largest snake to have ever roamed the earth. Could you imagine what OTHER monsterous creatures were around at this time?!

Titanoboa grew to be up to 13 meters (42.7 feet) long and weighed upwards of 1,135 kg (1.25 tonnes ). The most complete fossils of Titanoboa were found in a coal mine in Colombia.

Although it wouldn’t eat all that often, when it did, it FEASTED. The diet of Titanoboa consisted of the crocodiles of the Ancient Cerrejon Formation of Columbia in South America. To confirm, this GIANT SNAKE would eat CROCODILES like candy.

This is the skeleton of an Anaconda. The Titanoboa was twice as long and 3 times as heavy as a fully grown “Giant Anaconda”.

Although they would have looked very much like modern-day anacondas, they most likely didn’t hunt like them. Rather than constricting and strangling their prey, they likely killed them by striking quick and fiercely at the neck. They did, however, still have the ability to crush the life out of anything they wanted.

This snake was able to grow so large because of the ideal conditions that their habitat presented them with. They were carnivores that ate only a few times a year. If they weren’t feeling like eating crocs, they likely also feasted on other snakes like cobras, pythons, and other constrictors.

They were incredibly skilled hunters and it is estimated that they were capable of crushing their prey with the force of 400 lbs per square inch.

Like anacondas, these beasts likely spent a lot of their time in the water. This only makes it even scarier. Imagine going back in time and finding yourself in the jungles of Colombia knowing that these things were slithering around both in the bush and beneath the murky depths of the swamps?!

I know it’s hard to believe at first, but this is real. On April 21, 2017, in Jieyang, China, hundreds of people saw the image of a city floating on the clouds above them. Thanks to the power of the Internet we have some of the pics taken that day, but as it turns out, this phenomenon has happened before. Similar optical illusions were recorded at 5 different locations in China six years prior to this event. While some of the theories included possible aliens, the second coming of Christ, or a holographic test by the Chinese Army, I think it’s safe to say none of those are true. Here’s another possible explanation – Fata Morgana! This weather phenomenon can be seen when the light passes through heat waves causing a duplication effect. You gotta admit it’s a bit more believable than some nasty aliens.

4. Raining Cats And Dogs . . . And Spiders?

Speaking of “nasty”, what do you get when you combine storm winds and spider nests? That’s right, you’re getting the F out of wherever you are at that moment. Seriously, I can understand and tolerate locust falling from the sky, or cows during a tornado, but who “Up There” thought it would be a great idea to let spiders float from the Heavens? Sadly enough, while not being a common occurrence, flightless animals do fall from the sky from time to time. Some examples include frogs, tadpoles, spiders, fish, eels, snakes, worms, and your friendly neighborhood spider-spiders. Scientists are still baffled by the logistics and peculiarities of this phenomenon, but one thing is certain – it SUCKS!

3. The Great Attractor

Let’s get as far away from the arachnids as possible for now… Deep space will do! Okay, so, to understand why this one’s weird, you gotta first accept that the Big Bang was a thing. You know, when all matter in our universe was so tightly compressed that it just burst. After that the matter, anti-matter, and all the stuff we’re not aware of yet flew into space. Basically, it was an explosion, and since then everything in our universe has been moving AWAY from each other (unless gravity gets you). So there’s this “Great Attractor” thing 150–250 million light years away that is pulling stuff toward the Milky Way and other nearby galaxies. How and why, and what exactly is doing the pulling? Sadly we don’t know, but in 2016, a group of international scientists were able to finally look past the Milky Way using the CSIRO’s Parkes radio telescope, and discovered over 800 galaxies clustered in that area. And now there are 2 camps: 1) saying that all these galaxies are doing the pulling, and 2) the galaxies were pulled there. I know one thing for sure: this stuff is super exciting!

2. The Taos Hum

Hummmmm…. Welcome to Taos! Located in North Central New Mexico, it is best known for the mysterious “Taos Hum,” a noise reported to be heard by 2% of the population. The weird part is that it’s described differently by each individual, and none of the recording equipment could “hear” that hum. To this day we have no idea what it is, so your guess is as good as mine.

1. The Tunguska Event

It’s June 30, 1908. Somewhere near Podkamennaya Tunguska River in Siberia, a massive fireball hurls toward the ground before exploding about 6 kilometers above the surface. The explosion wiped out countless animals, probably even made some species go extinct, and completely flattened the nearby trees, sending out a hot shock wave for miles. People 64 kilometers away from the epicenter, were knocked back by the concussive force. The scientists speculate that the fireball was an asteroid or a meteor, but what’s really weird is that no crater was ever found. Which means no meteor. So what exactly happened there? It’s a bloody mystery, for sure.

1. The Griffin And The Dragon

4 years ago, in 2013, archaeologists exploring Mokhnataya mountain (“furry mountain”) in Siberia, found some unique granite monuments. Well, it’s either that ,or our pareidolia is to blame. There are these 2 huge creatures, resembling a dragon and a griffin. The dragon consists of 6 parts and weighs over 120 tons. The other beast is 5.9 meters (19.4 ft) long and 2.5 meters (8.2 ft) tall. The Scythian monuments could easily be older than 10,000 years, but nobody really know who made these monsters and why.

2. Desert Wine

This one’s fairly recent. Sometime in 2017 a few archeologists found a desert winery in Israel. The site dated back to the Byzantine era (around 400 AD) and was pretty huge. The building was made of stone and had a wine press inside. When archaeologists were shocked when they realized what they were looking at. Believe it or not, wine presses in buildings were a pretty rare thing in the ancient Nabataean city of Avdat. Most importantly, the big wine press proves that people had mastered this craft hundreds of years before Israel even formed. Everybody needs some wine once in a while.

3. Little Pompeii

This year a French team discovered something amazing, while digging outside of the city of Vienne. An entire luxury Roman neighborhood was unearthed, with beautiful homes, mosaic floors displaying mythical scenes, shops, and a large building that might have included a philosophy school. The oldest houses were built during the first century AD, then, after several deadly fires, the people were forced to pack their bags and run, and that gave these ruins the name “Little Pompeii”, because, you know Pompei was buried alive by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. That old chestnut.

4. Great Wall Of Siberia

It’s not everyday you see someone else copying China. Somewhere in Sybiria , the north of the Altai mountains was protected by a network of man-made walls. Six sturdy lines of walls running parallel to each other sure look like they could stop an entire horde. Each wall was 10 meters wide (33 ft) and 8 meters tall (26 ft). But that’s not all! To the East, there were 9 more walls. The hypothetical intruders were forced into a very uncomfortable position: proceed and get an arrow in the face, or run like hell. And to think that we’ve only discovered these walls in 2017!

5. City From Egypt’s Early Days

When I say Egypt, you’re probably imagining the pyramids, the Sphinx, and a bunch of people worshiping cats. I know I do, but what did it look like when it was just a settlement? To unearth a whole lost city is pretty much any archaeologist’s wet (dry?) dream. Recently archeologists found something very curious in Sohag, a southern province in Upper Egypt. It was a truly ancient city, dating way back to at least 5000 BC. The ruins included buildings, houses, pottery, and a plethora of tools. There were also 15 gigantic tombs, which were clearly meant for the more valued members of society. Scientists believe that this unnamed city was full of officials and tomb builders, responsible for the royal crypts in Abydos, an ancient Egyptian capital. It appears that almost 2 kilometers (1 mi) behind this city lies the necropolis with the royal tombs. While we can identify some rulers from that era, the earliest-laid graves belong to a time when Egyptian history was just beginning.

Kaspar arrived in Neurenberg, Germany as a child who could only speak one sentence and could barely walk, despite being – allegedly – 16 years of age. He would be murdered five years after his arrival in the city, despite there still not being a single clue about his lineage. It’s assumed he was the son of Karel van Baden, a descendant of Napoleon. Kaspar was probably ditched and murdered because of his mental health problems.

This one is pretty weird. We know he died in 1933, yet he claims he was born in 1736. A Chinese herbalist growing to be 197 years old? Surely there must be some records that can deny this. Sure there are. The records say he was born in 1677, so he would’ve lived 256 years. It’s fair to say that this is highly unlikely, but we can’t prove how old he really was.

Mel was a bit of a character. He’d call into a late-night radio show that delved into the spooky, paranormal, and weird stuff going on around the planet. But one night, he relayed a story that seemed insane even for him. Now, two decades later, people are still searching for answers…

One night in 1997, a man named Mel Waters called in to late-night AM radio program Coast to Coast. The show, hosted by Art Bell (pictured), covered everything from the paranormal to the conspiratorial. And boy, did Mel have the perfect story for his fellow listeners!

Mel claimed he once owned some property out in rural Washington, just nine miles west of a town called Ellensburg. There, he found something neither Art nor his listeners could believe.

According to Mel, there was a hole on his property that plunged 80,000 feet into the earth (he’d measured it with fishing wire, apparently). This would make the hole easily as the deepest on the planet—and that wasn’t even the strangest thing he reported.

All of Mel’s neighbors knew about the hole; in fact, they all frequently tossed their trash into it for easy disposal. But Mel knew there was more to it. He’d heard a rumor that, on more than one occasion, a mysterious black beam shot out of it and into the sky.

The strangest story of all, however, involved a local hunter, whose beloved pet dog passed away one day. Overcome with grief, the hunter threw his dog’s body into the hole. That should have been the last time he’d ever seen his pooch…

But just a few days later, while strolling through the area around the hole, the hunter—who relayed his story to Mel—swore he saw his dog. Same fur pattern. Same collar. Same everything. Had the mysterious chasm resurrected his dog?

Listeners could only speculate as Mel told story after story about this oddity, some ridiculous, others not. His association with the hole—which would come to be known as “Mel’s Hole”—ended when the government, allegedly, paid him off.

Somehow, strange as his phone call was, others corroborated Mel’s out-of-this-world tales. Red Elk, a Native American from the area, confessed that he, too, had known about Mel’s Hole since his father showed him in 1961.

“There are people down there,” Red Elk said. “Alien people to us that were here even before man… the planet they come from is a desert planet, so they live underground.” He was alluding to a theory known to some as Hollow Earth.

As the stories and legends about Mel’s Hole became stranger and stranger, the longer they stayed in the public conscience. Strangest of all, however, was that no matter how unbelievable the legend became, people couldn’t resist its pull.

Red Elk himself once led an expedition of 30 people to locate Mel’s Hole. Of course, they returned without having found anything of the sort. But, amazingly, other efforts to find the pit turned up more fruitful evidence.

For instance, when looking at publicly available satellite imagery provided by the government, one YouTuber discovered, well… nothing. Instead, right where the hole should have been, were two enormous white squares. Huh?

That finding, of course, coincided with other rumors about Mel’s Hole. “It has something to do with extra-terrestrials. UFO crafts,” said Ellensburg local Dan Turner as he recalled all that he knew of the legend.

The story of Mel’s Hole spread further and further, and eventually, serious journalists wanted the truth. But when they sought contact with Mel Waters, they found that no one by that name lived—or had ever lived—in Ellensburg.

“It’s like a Holy Grail thing,” Dan said jokingly. “If you find it, I guess maybe there’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow; maybe there’s demons that are gonna assault you in your sleep at night. I don’t know.”

And while few believed every single story, some wondered what, if anything, the legend was based on. Was there truly some seemingly bottomless hole out in rural Washington? In 2017, a few film students tried finding out…

To begin their search, Evan Catlin, Cory Henderson, and Tyler Templeton brought their film equipment to coordinates they found online—right in those white boxes from the satellite footage. They didn’t expect to find anything, but then…

They actually stumbled upon a seemingly unending pit! Was this Mel’s Hole? “On every single side, you can’t see the bottom. Anywhere you go, you can’t see it,” Evan said. But was it 80,000 feet deep?

To test its depth, Evan threw a rock inside and waited for the sound of it hitting the bottom. After what felt like forever, he’d heard… nothing. So he threw another rock. Again, nothing.

So the team busted out the big equipment. With ropes and a GoPro, they lowered the camera into the hole as deep as it’d go. Eventually, they ran out of rope (and the property owner chased them away). But had they captured anything of note on film?

Not exactly. However, the hole did, at the very least, look a bit endless. Could this hole have been the basis for the legend, even without a black beam, a dead dog, or aliens? Without Mel to confirm, we may never know, but that begged a question…

How on earth did ramblings on an AM conspiracy radio program become such a widespread legend? Why did the story of Mel’s Hole persist for more than two decades? Mark Auslander, director of Museum of Culture and Anthropology, took a guess.

“In a metaphorical sense,” Mark said, “we’re not just looking for a landscape feature, but we’re looking for some mystery in the world.” And he may be right. As for the mystery of the hole the film students discovered…

It turned out to be an old mining shaft! Still, check out the video below for more information on the legend of Mel’s Hole. While it’s unlikely anyone will find a magical pit hiding aliens, you have to wonder: what’s the truth about this mysterious story?

In the movie Anonymous, released in 2011, Shakespeare was shown as an average actor who took credit for all the works that Edward de Vere wrote. Of course, experts on Shakespeare totally disagree with this point of view. However, this version of events has existed for more than 100 years, and it is considered to be one of the most popular ones.

2. Hitler died of old age in 1984

As you probably know, on April 30, 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his underground bunker. His body was found and identified. But it’s not that simple.

The FBI has declassified the documents that claim Hitler enjoyed a calm and peaceful life long after the war ended. First, he was hiding in Argentina, and then he moved to Brazil. The author of the book Hitler in Brazil — His Life and Death writes about this. According to her version, he went there for a reason — it wasn’t a random choice. He had a map with a marked spot that led to a treasure.

To hide, Hitler changed his name to Adolf Leipzig and had a relationship with a black woman whose name was Cutinga. But the locals still called him “the old German.”

3. Peter I was secretly substituted after his Grand Embassy.

Peter I was not real! The legends about the “fake tsar” started spreading after he returned from Europe because of the reforms that Peter made. Shaving beards, the introduction of foreign clothes, tobacco — people were worried about Europeanization. Besides, many people noticed some changes in the appearance of Peter I: he became older and taller. He also sent all his relatives to a monastery. Apparently, he didn’t want them to discover the truth.

Conspirologists also claim that Peter stopped enjoying all Russian traditions and even forgot how to properly write in his mother tongue.

According to this theory, the real tsar was captured and kept in a fortress. And according to one of the versions, he was the Man in the Iron Mask.

4. Jim Morrison staged his own death and went to the Seychelles.

Jim Morrison, the leader of The Doors and one of the greatest singers of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine, died in 1971 because of heart failure. But this is what the official version says. He was very young, just like the other members of the 27 Club.

However, the only person who saw his dead body was his girlfriend, Pamela Courson. This made other people doubt the very fact of the singer’s death. There is a legend that says Morrison faked his own death. According to what Raymond Manzarek (the keyboard player of the band) wrote in his book The Poet in Exile, Morrison went to the Seychelles.

Actually, this is not the first time something like this has happened. Some people think that Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson did the same thing.

5. Avril Lavigne has an impostor from Brazil who performs instead of her.

Yes, similar legends exist even about modern singers. According to some people, the Canadian singer Avril Lavigne died in 2003 —15 years ago! And for all these years, an impostor has been performing instead of her. Her name is Melissa.

A girl who looks like Avril started her blog in the early 2000s. She wrote that the real singer couldn’t cope with the death of her grandfather and committed suicide. So Melissa had to help and play the role of Avril. Surprisingly, this theory has gathered many followers. To this day, people on Twitter discuss her photos and videos and compare them with data from the past.

But we are wondering: how do we know that Melissa herself is not fake?

According to this information, Keanu Reeves’s immortal soul has been living for many years already. And he has been different people during this time. For example, he was Charles the Great and the French actor Paul Mounet. Of course, all the different “iterations” are connected with very mysterious circumstances of death (like it has ever been any different!). Keanu Reeves is very different from many other celebrities (he acts like a totally ordinary person), and fans think this is because he has the wisdom from his previous lives. A supposed time traveling man has produced a photo of what he says is Los Angeles completely under water in the year 5000.

This man, called ‘Edward’ made a video in which he describes what the future holds for humanity. He holds a photograph in the video of and speaks in great detail about life on earth 3 millennia into the future.

Edward insists that he was a participant in a top secret test in 2004, and he appears in the video with a blurred face and with his voice changed.

He says he was sitting in a park in Armenia when he became involved with the experiment.

He doesn’t go into much detail about the experiment, choosing to speak about the discoveries he made, including the underwater city.

In an interview with Apex TV, he said he stood atop a wooden surface, along with houses and other buildings made of wood as well. He says the world came to be submerged in parts due to the melting ice caps that are coming about with global warming. He came to realize it was Los Angeles, California he was looking at, but completely submerged underwater.

He is joined in a growing list by many, such as another self proclaimed time traveler, a man named Noah. Noah actually agreed to take a lie detector test and answer questions about his time travel escapades. He passed, but they didn’t show any footage of the test on camera.

Noah told of many things that would be happening in the next 10 years or so, including Donald Trump being elected to a second term in 2020.

He is 50 years of age, but appears to be half that because of a drug that rejuvenated his body after dealing with anorexia and depression.

He claimed to be from the year 2030 and he was asked if this is actually true and apparently, it is, accordingly to the test. The test nobody actually saw the results of.

Apex TV says they asked Noah about his travels, and they attempted to make sure his story is real, and they even X rayed his wrist to see if some technology from the future is there. He claims there is a gadget beneath the skin of his wrist.

Another supposed time traveler, Alexander Smith, is an older man who says he went from 1981 to 2118, as a part of an experiment conducted by the CIA.

Alexander claims that the next century will include a new language spoken by humans, much worse ramifications of global warming, and verified alien visits beginning in the middle of the 21st century. He says the aliens do come to visit, and calls them intelligent extraterrestrials.

Still another man claiming to have been part of a secret experiment claims to have a photo from 4,000 years into the future. He said the ones who rule the world of the future don’t want any of this getting out, but he shared a photo of one of the ‘major cities.’

He insists that ‘they’ don’t want him sharing any of the information and they really won’t like it, but he’s sharing the photo of a major city in the year 6000.

He withholds the name of the city, citing it would cause a big change in the future time, but shares the photo. It’s distorted because of the process of time travel, he explains.

He says that some time travelers have even experienced parts of their bodies being distorted in the process. He says that sending people forward in time was first tested on animals. Now that they have perfected the process, he says it will be put forth to all of us in 2028.

The biggest revelation he gives us is that in the year 6000, all of mankind is led by a highly advanced AI capable of 100% accurate predictions. He goes on to say that there are so many things we, in present day, have no idea about.

He continues that the AI that governs future humankind make decisions based in n logic, not emotions. They are much smarter than we are, he says. We will also be able to live forever in the future, according to him, by uploading our minds to computers.
